In celebration of healthy competition, teamwork and camaraderie

SHANGHAI, 20 November, 2025  The 2025 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series held its final race of the year in Shanghai. Over 4,500 participants from 194 companies came together, which is a 14% increase on 2024.

“We consider it an honor to host the Corporate Challenge here in Shanghai every year. It’s the 12th running for the Shanghai chapter, and with nearly 200 companies joining the event, the attendance is indicative that it has become an important date in the Shanghai business community’s calendar,” said Rita Chan, Co-Senior Country Officer for China, J.P. Morgan.

The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is an all-inclusive event designed to promote fitness and camaraderie amongst runners, joggers and walkers. The city became part of the Corporate Challenge series in 2011, and the popularity of the 5.6km road race has continued to strengthen.

“We’re very grateful that the base of companies participating in the Corporate Challenge continues to demonstrate great support,” said Alan Ho, Co-Senior Country Officer for China, J.P. Morgan. “Our event keeps nurturing the growth of long-standing participants while welcoming a wave of new companies at the starting line, reflecting our over-century-long presence as we continue to grow and advance in China.”

The Corporate Challenge drew a diverse range of industries this year, with Eaton China (295), Bosch Investment (150), Shanghai Disney Resort (147), Porsche (114), ADP (107) being the five largest companies in terms of entrants.

Among first-time participating companies, Descente brought a team of 80 participants and elevated their support for the Corporate Challenge Shanghai as an event sponsor, providing hats and finisher bags to all registered participants.

Juice sponsor VCLEANSE also provided its juice to all participants at the finish line.

The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Shanghai followed the Series’ long-standing tradition of supporting charities in countries where its events are held. In celebration of all participants, J.P. Morgan is proud to support the China Social Entrepreneur Foundation (YouChange) as the 2025 beneficiary.

“JPMorganChase and YouChange’s partnership has empowered over 10,000 rural youth and women across China over the years,” said Wang Ping, Chairperson of China Social Entrepreneur Foundation. “Inspired by the spirit of Corporate Challenge, we will continue to advance rural empowerment, helping more micro-entrepreneurs, especially women, to create value and build a better life through innovation.”

Shanghai was the final event of the 2025 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series, which visited 16 locations in eight countries on six continents. The 2025 Series drew 234,098 at eight markets in the United States, two in China, and one each in Argentina, Australia, England, Germany, Singapore, and South Africa. The total attendance was a 3% increase over the 226,695 attracted in 2024.

And, looking ahead, there’s a celebration in store with the 2026 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge as the Series celebrates its 50th consecutive year of operation, dating back to its 1977 debut in New York’s Central Park.
